Bowens Island Wedding | Alley + Richard

Alley and Richard were sent to me from Jenny, a past bride of mine. I still remember the first time I met them. We met up at a Starbucks and sat around and chatted about their wedding. They told me all about their big plans for their wedding day and they were SO excited. Initially, they were going to have their wedding at Wingate Place, but as luck would have it, Covid hit- guest lists became smaller, and the venue changed to Bowens Island to help accommodate a smaller guest list. Covid may have caused their plans to slightly change, but their Bowens Island wedding was still perfect!

Their Wedding Day

Alley and Richard’s ceremony took place on the beach at Folly. With the most perfect weather, the two exchanged vows while the waves crashed in the background providing a sense of calm. After their ceremony, Rachard and Alley’s guests made their way over to Bowens Island for a boathouse reception. We snagged some amazing couples portraits on the dock at Bowens before sending them into their reception.

These Covid weddings have certainly kept my couples and their guests constantly thinking of creative ways to include friends and family who were not able to travel. In Alley and Richard’s case, they were pleasantly surprised with a video with messages from all their friends and family who were not able to make it. It was such a sweet gesture from their friends and family to do such a thing, and you could tell how much these two appreciated all of their kind messages.

After some AMAZING seafood, toasts, and cake cutting, Alley, Richard and their guests enjoyed the evening talking and dancing the night away- ending the night with an epic sparkler exit.

A Letter To the Couple

Alley and Richard, thank you both so much for the opportunity to capture your wedding! I also want to thank you for being so calm, cool, and collected during all the Covid craziness. You two are amazing and I’m so happy for you! I hope that you’re enjoying married life to the fullest! Hope to see you both again soon!! Congratulations!
