The Anchor Room at the Wando River Grill |Ryan + Katherine

| A Simple, Elegant Riverside Wedding |

The first time I met Katherine and Ryan in person was our prebooking consultation at a Mexican restaurant in Charleston. We sat and drank beer, binged on chips and dip, and went over what they were dreaming up for their wedding. I knew immediately when they asked to meet up at Mexican to discuss their riverside wedding, that these were my people, so when they booked, I was SO excited. Mexican food? Riverside wedding? Say no more! I’M THERE! I really started to get to know them more during their engagement session, and this is when I realized that their wedding was not only going to be stunning, but FUN!

The day started with the girls and guys getting ready at the house located on the property of The Anchor Room at The Wando River Grill.  Ryan and Katherine’s bridal party were just as sweet and fun as them. I had such a good time hanging out capturing moments while the girls and guys got ready. After a few quick separate bridesmaids and groomsmen portraits, it was time for the ceremony!

Beside the Wando River, Katherine, Ryan, and their friends and family escaped the chaos going on in the world. Ryan and Katherine had a peaceful riverside ceremony on the lawn at The Anchor Room. They did not share a first look, instead, they opted for an aisle reveal and Ryan’s face was priceless as he smiled ear to ear watching Katherine walk down the aisle. Her bridesmaids wore beautiful mixed matched dresses in Silver Sage (my current favorite wedding color!), and Blush. This elegant color pallet was perfect for this riverside wedding. While the guest list might have had to get cut down due to the current pandemic, the reception proved that there was surely no lack of energy with this crowd.

After the ceremony, we took family formals, some quick full bridal party portraits, and then moved on to take couples portraits of the newlyweds! Clouds threatened us with rain, however it held off and ended up making for some pretty cool pictures toward the end of their portraits. Ryan and Katherine were able to enjoy the end of their cocktail hour by the water before everyone went inside for the reception. As the sun began to set, the reception started. After first dances, toasts, and the cake cutting, the two danced the night away with their guests.

Katherine and Ryan, CONGRATULATIONS!! I hope that you’re enjoying every minute of being newlyweds! It was such an honor to capture your wedding for you! Best wishes to you both!!
