Wedding Coordinators. Where do I begin?! You can have anything from full planning to just the day of and let me tell you, it’s 100% worth the investment. The amount of work that these coordinators here in Charleston do is insane to me. Putting together a timeline for the day of, keeping track of vendors, setting things up, breaking things down, making sure everyone is where they need to be and making sure things are happening according to schedule… the list goes on!
With that being said, even if your venue doesn’t require a coordinator, I highly suggest getting one regardless! For some couples, planning a wedding is stressful. However, do you know what’s even more stressful for you? A wedding without a coordinator. You’ve dreamed of this day for so long and so you should be able to enjoy it to the fullest! There’s nothing I love more than seeing my couples truly enjoying their day and making the most of the time they’re spending with their friends and family, and with a coordinator you’ll be able to do just that!
I remember the first wedding I ever shot with a coordinator. It was smooth, it was stunning, nothing went wrong…… at least as far as the couple knew! As with every wedding, there’s bound to be a tiny bump or two on the day of, however if you have a coordinator like the amazing coordinators that Charleston has to offer, the odds of you even finding out that certain things went wrong on your wedding day is slim.
Alternatively, brides without a coordinator are likely to remember their wedding day being a little more stressful. This also applies to the planning aspect of your wedding! Trust me, if I could go back in time, I would have hired a FULL planner. It would have been worth every penny for my mom and I not to stress over which vendors needed to be hired still, who to hire, what still needs to be paid to who, what time the vendors are going to arrive, who’s setting up the ceremony and reception… you get my point!
I’m not talking about bringing in your bridesmaid or friend as your coordinator. I’m talking about someone who basically does this full time or part time. Wedding coordinators do a lot of work.. like a lot! There’s a reason why so many show up in workout clothes and change before the ceremony, I promise! While having a friend or your bridesmaid take on the task as day of coordinator might sound fun, very rarely do they actually get to relax and enjoy your wedding.
Here are a few Coordinators that I’ve worked with below, accompanied by a photo from one of the weddings we’ve worked together!
