Southern Spring Wedding at The Gadsden House

Max & Brenna

If ever there was the perfect destination wedding location for an elegant Southern Spring wedding, it would certainly be Charleston. Pair the Springtime beauty this city has to offer with the Gadsden House, add an amazing vendor team and, my friends, you have the perfect southern wedding.  Max and Brenna deserved nothing less than a perfect wedding day, and I think that’s exactly what they got!  It’s as if the wedding Gods were looking over us, blessing us with beautiful weather and a day that went so smoothly that it was almost questionable.

The Wedding Day

When we arrived, Brenna and her bridesmaids were getting ready up in the bridal suite while the guys were getting ready over in the groomsmen suite. They were all so calm, and if Brenna was nervous at all, you would have never known. We started out with Brenna’s bridal details, which were simple, yet stunning. Her shoes (you have have seen the post on insta!) were definitely a huge hit- nothing says southern elegance like blue and white patterns, am I right? After we finished bridal details, Brenna stepped into her wedding dress and we headed over to the first look location.

Watching Max’s reaction to Brenna during the first look, I couldn’t help but smile. The second he turned around to see his beautiful bride he was smiling from ear to ear. After a few moments of them soaking it all up, we moved on to couples portraits, then moved on to bridal party and family formals to get those all knocked out before the ceremony.

Even though Max had already seen Brenna before the ceremony, his face still lit up the second she and her father made their way down the aisle. Their ceremony included a reading by Max’s sister, and vows that the two wrote themselves. There’s something about self-written, heartfelt vows that always put me on the verge of tears; and Max and Brenna’s were no different. The rest of the day was met with touching toasts, delicious food, and a lot of fun and dancing. At the end of the night, Max and Brenna were sent off via sparkler exit and rode off into the dreamy Charleston night in a rickshaw.

A Letter to the couple:

Max and Brenna, thank you both so much for trusting me to capture such a special day for you two. I loved working with you two and getting to know your friends and family. Congratulations on this new chapter of life! I wish you two all the happiness!!
