When my couples decide to carry on with their engagement session despite threats of rain, I know they’re my people! That’s exactly what happened with Whitney and Clayton’s rainy day engagement session, and wow- what an amazing session it was!
After an entire week of what seemed to be never-ending rain, we had to make the call to reschedule Whitney and Clayton’s engagement session. Surely a day that promised warm weather and only 30% chance of rain would be fine. However, we do live in Charleston. So when Monday rolled around, we watched the radar closely. As the time of our session approached, the radar almost guaranteed rain for their session. But, Whitney had just had her hair and makeup professionally done by Silhouettes On Site; and what does the radar know anyway? So we made the call to go ahead and carry on with their engagement session. Beside the fact that their adorable pup had to home because of the rain, I think it’s safe to say that their rainy day engagement session was perfect in every way!
We started out at The Mills House but after a few minutes, the rain began to come down and we needed to move. In effort to stay dry, we moved over to Hibernian Hall where we spent the majority of their engagement session taking photos. The best part is that despite staying in one location for so long, we still captured tons of variety. We kept a close eye on the rain and finally, it let up for us! That’s when we took it to the streets. After a quick outfit change we made our way around and were able to get even more variety for them.
Whitney and Clayton were natural pros in front of the camera. So much so that I’m pretty sure they’re professional models and not really realtors like they claim. I think I’ll leave that up for you to decide though after you look through some of my favorite images from their session.
